Amazing details on the sun!

Check out this breathtaking photograph of a sunspot captured by the talented amateur astronomer, Petrus Kurppa! Kurppa utilized impressive equipment, including a TS Optics 152mm f/5.9 refractor, a Lacerta 2" herchel wedge, and a Baader Solar Continuum filter, in addition to the Player One Apollo-M Max camera, to produce this incredibly detailed image.

Despite unfavorable weather forecasts, Kurppa was able to take advantage of a clear sky and relatively stable seeing conditions. However, focusing manually with such a high magnification posed a significant challenge. Nevertheless, Kurppa triumphantly overcame this obstacle and achieved a truly remarkable result! On the bottom right corner you can see the relative size of the earth for perspective - the sunspot could easily swallow the entire planet!
